PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The 33 Church Street Senior Living project in Nova Scotia utilized VaproShield’s WrapShield SA and BlockFlashing to enhance building performance during cold-weather construction. Designed by Nycum + Associates and installed by Clad-Tech, this project faced the unique challenge of maintaining proper moisture management throughout the harsh winter months.

With 76,000 sq.ft. of VaproShield product installed, WrapShield SA was chosen for its high permeability and superior drying capability. The gypsum substrate required a high-perm option to effectively manage moisture while maintaining durability. BlockFlashing was utilized as the window flashing membrane, providing reliable protection against moisture intrusion at critical openings.

Pinnacle Agencies LTD, the VaproShield representative, worked closely with the project team to ensure successful installation. General Contractor Marco Construction managed the project, which began in late October and continued through winter. The use of VaproShield products contributed to a resilient, moisture-managed building envelope, supporting the long-term comfort and durability of the senior living facility.
